Life today seems to be incomplete without stress and it’s prolonging hazardous consequences. We live in a fast paced era where we are always running to reach are deadlines-it is not restricted to office goers only. It extends even to school kids who have to stretch themselves to manage their school, its homework, and their extra curricular activities. As a result they are left with no quality time for mental well-being and physical fitness. Adults suffer higher degree of stress levels for they always keeping up momentum to wrap up the work; they work 15 hours on average per day and are left with no time for themselves. People these days go by the concept that either you are quick or dead. They are quick for sure but they are definitely not living. They reach their deadlines on time but seem to postpone their living, which ironically never seems to come. Stress is not restricted to a particular profession only. Teachers, sportspersons, pilots and others are all victims of stress. Stress affects us mentally as well as physically. Physically it harms our immune, endocrine, nervous and cardiovascular system. It depletes our energy levels and as a result we are always tired. Mentally it acts as a hole in the tire of the cycle that is life where we are moving so fast to reach our destination that we don’t even consider refueling a necessity. Also stress enhances aging and can even harm fetus. Too much stress targets relationships, in our desire to move fast we tend to ignore people around us. People become violent, live on drugs and degrade their lives in every possible way they can.
However stress taken in moderation combined with positive thinking can do wonders in an individual’s life. Optimistic approach helps you beat the ill effects of stress. A positive thinker will see brighter side of things and will be successful in balancing work pressure and life. He will be able to approach life with a holistic viewpoint. He needs to add some measures in his routine to manage stress. Work is never going to be reduced nor will be the responsibilities; he can only improve his efficiency. Regular walk, reading self help books, listening to music, positive visualization are some of the stress management techniques. Walking and laughter releases chemicals and rejuvenates body. Yoga, spiritual healing arts like reiki and humor helps you manage stress. A good laugh, regular walk and positive chanting create a positive vibe around you bringing happiness to your life. Anything good or bad if repeated creates the desired aura and hence the consequences, it can be done anywhere. You can chant while traveling, bathing or anywhere. It must be repeated around 30 times a day. You don’t need to join gym sessions to keep yourself fit, a regular 15 minute walk a day is adequate, prefer stairs to elevators. Meditation is the concept of sitting still and focusing on your inner self. It helps you know yourself and acts as lighthouse to your life. Simple home made food is the key to a healthy living. People like to eat at fast food centers but it is home baked food that adds value to your life. They help you know your inner self and aid you in controlling your mind. A positive approach attracts wellness and happiness giving meaning to your life.
Life is like a river and its water reflects the health of the river, clean water can be used for any purpose while dirty water stinks. It holds true to our life pessimistic thoughts make us useless while positive thoughts add vibrancy to our life. We all have a need for positive thinking.
